Highlights of cases handled by Alpine Legal Services
Recently we provided legal assistance to a client who, for years, had been physically abused by her husband. The husband was also abusive to the parties' disabled
son. The client felt that she could not leave her husband --- she was intensely fearful of what he would do if she left, and unfortunately, was financially dependent upon him. However, when the husband severely injured her, the client finally decided to leave. Alpine Legal Service represented her in obtaining a protective order, as well as a divorce and child support.
In a similar case, the client was victim of prolonged domestic violence, but because she did not speak English, had felt that the court system was inaccesible to her. With our Spanish-speaking staff, we were able to assist her in obtaining a proctective order and divorce.
