ALPINE LEGAL SERVICES OFFERS TRAINING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT

ALS now offers training to area law enforcement to explore opportunities that utilize the civil legal process to enhance possible criminal prosecutions in pursuit of seeking justice to crime vicitms.

Aspen Valley Medical Foundation awards Alpine $30,000 grant for 2009

The Aspen Valley Medical Foundation awarded Alpine Legal Services a grant of $20,000 for 2008 in our on-going partnership grant. Alpine will use the funds to continue to offer free legal services to deserving clients and to assist clients address issues concerning health and the law.

DO IT YOURSELF DIVORCE CLINIC

Alpine Legal Services presents the Do it Yourself Divorce Clinic. The clinic will take place the third Thursday of every month, at 1:00 p.m. in the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. We offer the same clinic on the first Thursday of even numbered months at 1:00 p.m. in the Pitkin County Courthouse.

The purpose of the class is to give you legal information and court forms to help you in filing a divorce case yourself. This clinic is supported by grants from Aspen Valley Community Foundation. Ombudsman Services

Alpine provides ombudsman services to seniors in assisted living facilities and nursing homes in Garfield County.


Internships Available:

Alpine Legal Services, Inc. is seeking law students to intern at its offices in Aspen and Glenwood Springs. The intern provides direct service under attorney superivision in civil matters for seniors; victims of crime; and low income clients in Garfield, Pitkin, and Eagle Counties. The internship provides a great opportunity to develop an understanding of public interest law and develop legal skills in a unique rural resort community.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with the client community. Preference is given to candidates who speak Spanish. Please send a resume, writing sample, and three references to:
